Thank you for your continued support of DMOARTS.

We are pleased to announce that DMOARTS will close its business at "LUCUA 1100" on July 28, 2012.

Since its launch in 2011, we have held a variety of exhibitions under the theme of "making art accessible and familiar" at the best location above Osaka Station. Thank you very much for your patronage over the years.

DMOARTS will maintain its concept as "a place to experiment and introduce young artists to the art market," while pursuing more flexible possibilities as an art project and gallery. We will keep you informed of new developments at DMOARTS as soon as details are finalized.

It is about one size smaller than A4, so it can be displayed in a small place in your home.

  • Haruka Kanzaki Solo Exhibition “ON THE WAY BACK HOME”

    2019-06-14 10:00

    2019 6/14 Fri. - 6/27 Thu.
10:00-21:00(Closes at 6:00 p.m. on the last day only)

    Reception Party 6/15 Sat. 19:00-
    Gallery Talk 6/15 Sat. 19:00-

DMOARTS is pleased to present "ON THE WAY BACK HOME," Haruka Kanzaki's second solo exhibition at DMOARTS, following last year.

Kanzaki is a designer / illustrator based in Tokyo.
The rhythm of the sharpness and blotting of the ink is pleasantly rhythmic, and the artist draws up a fresh and light depiction of the mundane.
Last year, he participated in the art book "digmeout 07" and has been involved in various commissioned works.

The works expressed in this exhibition are based on stories that came to the artist's own mind.
It's like something you've seen before for everyone, or seen on your travels.
For some, it is on the way to somewhere, and for others, on the way home.
We hope you will enjoy the stories that fold over and over in the days that follow.

    [Artist Statement]
It is a Saturday morning at the beginning of April. Another all-night day is over, and I open the window that has been closed for days. On the TV, which I had left on instead of a clock, the weatherman or announcer is excitedly talking about the early summer weather.
Before I know it, the cherry blossom season is over, and my winter clothes, which have not been put away, are cramped and shriveled up in the corner of my bed.

Woman. It's so warm, I wish I could go to the beach, or if I didn't have a deadline today, I'd totally go to the beach.

Next scene. The woman is in a car crossing a bridge. The windows are fully open and loud music is playing in the car. She is wearing sunglasses, so we cannot see her expression, but she is humming a tune.

I painted this exhibit, wondering what would happen.
Where are you going?" I want to travel endlessly, saying things like, "Umm, I'm on my way home." If I get bored, I can just come back.

  • Ryoki Kurasaki Solo Exhibition “Traces Of The Soul”

    2019-05-04 12:00

    2019.5/17 Fri. - 5/30 Thu.
10:00-21:00 (Closes at 6:00 p.m. on the last day only)

    Reception Party 5/18 Sat. 18:00-
    Gallery Talk 5/18 Sat. 19:00-

DMOARTS is pleased to present "Traces Of The Soul," a solo exhibition by Ryoki Kurasaki.
Kurasaki paints portraits based on oil paintings and burns the eyes of the painted figures. He attempts to pursue the reality of the painted motifs by using the phenomena and materials generated by burning the canvas, the exposed space, and the compositional elements of the canvas itself.
In this exhibition, the "Traces Of The Soul" series, which expresses life and soul through soot and burn marks created by burning canvas, and the "Blindness" series, which expresses our attitude toward death and the way we face it in today's society, where death is far away, through blurred depictions of the dead and burning eyes as a motif.
This is the first solo exhibition in Osaka by the artist, who has been well received at UNKNOWN ASIA and ART OSAKA. We hope you will take this opportunity to visit the exhibition.

    [Artist's Statement]
Fire has often been a metaphor for life.
This is because the "burning while consuming fuel" of a flame is similar to the "feeding while active" of humans, and the "extinguishing" of a fire is associated with "death," among other things.
By incorporating fire into my work, I attempt to approach the reality of the motifs depicted.
