art stage OSAKA 2022" will be the first international art fair to be held in Osaka, following "ART FAIR TOKYO" in Tokyo. Selected galleries from Japan and abroad will exhibit and sell contemporary art works condensed from the domestic and international art scene in Dojima and Nakanoshima, where postwar art flourished.
As an international and diverse art market platform, "art stage OSAKA 2022" will offer a variety of exhibitions and programs as a venue for information exchange and socializing not only among art fans and art professionals, but also among ambassadors of various countries, government officials, and key figures in the business community.
We propose a new lifestyle from "appreciating art" to "owning art" and a "new way of dealing with art" to enrich people's minds and lives through art as cultural and social capital.
The "art stage OSAKA 2022" will serve as a catalyst for the revitalization of the art market in the Osaka area in preparation for the upcoming international exposition, and will contribute to the promotion of culture and the arts, including the development of artists and art and cultural human resources, as well as the social and economic revitalization.
  • Koga Miura solo exhibition「come and go」

    2022-05-10 12:00

We are pleased to announce "come and go," the first solo exhibition in Osaka by Kansai-based artist Mitsumasa Miura.
Miura was born in 1997 in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan, and graduated from Kyoto University of Arts in 2021 with a Master's degree in oil painting. He creates two-dimensional works based on the themes of "consciousness and unconsciousness," "artifice and randomness," and "production and non-production.

The color scheme and composition of the three works are determined by random numbers and cannot be controlled by the artist, while the production process is done in analog by the artist.

This is the first solo exhibition in Osaka in Miura's career, having participated in numerous group shows and art fairs in Japan and abroad. In addition to new works from the series of artworks he has presented in the past, Miura will take this opportunity to showcase a new series of works to be presented in conjunction with this exhibition.

The exhibition is also one of the venues for "ART WALK Dojima/Nakanoshima," a satellite event of the art fair "art stage OSAKA 2022" scheduled to be held during the exhibition period. We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to view art in Osaka in early summer.

    [Artist Statement]
He produces two-dimensional works using random numbers and written instructions, with the main themes of "consciousness and unconsciousness," "artifice and randomness," and "production and non-production. He uses random numbers to determine the process of composition and color scheme, which require the artist's decision-making in the production process, and outputs them through his own body. In the same way that an accidental expression that cannot be controlled by the artist is created through the repetition of a simple task according to instructions, he creates works in order to reaffirm and affirm the out-of-bounds nature of our daily lives.
