2023. 10. 27 Fri. - 2023. 11. 12 Sun.
We are pleased to present "TOGETHER," a solo exhibition by Chari, a Tokyo-based artist and illustrator.
A career designer and illustrator, Chari is an artist whose worldview is characterized by meticulously calculated compositions and iconic characters.
He continues to present his original works and has exhibited them in solo and group shows and art fairs in Japan and abroad, gaining popularity.
This will be Chari's first solo exhibition in Fukuoka.
This exhibition, which focuses on the theme of various relationships and distance, is composed mainly of new original artworks, allowing visitors to enjoy the world view of the works.
Please take this opportunity to view the exhibition.
[Artist Statement]
Different works depict different relationships and distances.
The security of a close relationship or the loneliness we feel when we are with someone else. Sometimes, a sense of solidarity with a complete stranger.
Even when you are alone, you are aware of someone else, and your relationship and distance from yourself is also present.
The work that is the main visual for this exhibition was supposed to depict everyone together, but before I knew it, I realized that I was depicting two animals in the midst of everyone else.
You are drawing on your own, but you are not in control of everything, and before you know it, you will be.
I feel that the finished work knows me better than I know myself.
